"Pioneers" is the pilot and prologue to Cosmic Wonders. It was initially uploaded to P.M. Seymour's YouTube channel on December 12th, 2021, before being taken down and reuploaded to the official Cosmic Wonders YouTube channel on July 24th, 2022.

Synopsis

A ragtag group of aliens, spirits, and other non-humans form the band Cosmic Wonders, to put on a peaceful protest against their mistreatment by the governments of earth. A mysterious group attempts to break up the concert, but are repelled by several other non-humans.

Plot

In 2040, the National Security Administration detected signs of interstellar and mystical humanoids living amongst the general public. Out of fear, they assembled a secretive elite group called "The Black Suit Corp", teaming with police forces to seek out, apprehend and contain any intelligent life that posed a "threat" to humanity.

After decades of hiding in their shielded home of Caifé Cosmos, a ragtag group of spirits, aliens, monsters and half-humans banded together to launch a peaceful protest, under the guise of a "long awaited" Live Concert by never before seen musical group, Cosmic Wonders.

Cyana, Solaria, Sana, Bah'Rhys, Aoi, Oren, Kael'thal, and Pario perform the song Pioneer, and remove their human disguises mid performance, while the other members of Caifé Cosmos hold off the police and the BSC. Midway through the concert, Shiro appears to chase off a helicopter that the others failed to fend off.

After the concert comes to a close, Cyana goes for a victory flight through space, and the other members celebrate the successful mission as the credits roll. Mara treats Grape to fries, Azuri sleepily wishes to improve her singing abilities, Kevin commends Bah'Rhys for their skills, Rei relaxes alongside Pario, Ainanis and Kael'thal, and Aoi receives a call from their commander and father on their communicator congratulating them and saying that they are coming to visit.

• Pioneer was originally released as an AMV storyboard before being fully produced and voiced.
  • The AMV used the original version of the song Pioneer, not the cover done by the cast in the current episode.
• The song "Pioneer" comes from the anime "Tenchi Muyo!"
• This episode was almost canceled as P.M. Seymour was initially unable to find a non-vocals version of the song.
