Kael'Thal Are’Oan is the bookkeeper for Caifé Cosmos and the pianist of Cosmic Wonders. He's from the planet Mars, and is a member of the Martians.

Backstory

Kael’Thal was born on Mars, like many Martians he became a protector for Jun’Oal’s, the Mars Spirit, temple grounds. Once he turned 30, they were allowed to go visit another planet to see if he would rather make a new life for himself or stay on Mars doing what he already did. Now, he’s the only immigrant on Earth because Jun’Oal harbours a fear of it, so nobody asks why or such. Except Kael’Thal, who was curious why that was the case. He came to Earth with her permission of passage, and has chosen to stay on Earth, and still unable to understand why their liege was so afraid of it.

He works as both Caifé Cosmos’ Bookkeeper due to his skills with numbers in exchange for his room and board, and as a pianist, often dueting with Cyana singing along.

Powers

As a Martian, Kael'Thal has augmented strength. Overall, while weaker than Kevin, he's still sturdy enough that he needs Mara to kick out all his aches and pains.

Kael'Thal also has the ability to use a "Human disguise" changing his skin colour from the Martian red it usually is, to a light brown colour.

Personality

He is quite straightforward and direct, and possibly not the best with socializing or conversations. He does come off as somewhat grumpy, due to his large stature and small office in tandem with our gravity making him quite sore and cranky. However, he becomes more akin to a father figure for the denizens once patched up.

Kael’Thal also knows more about the truth of Cosmic Spirits than most others, thanks to his liege, Jun’Oal.

• His favourite colour is Slate Gray.
• Kael'Thal struggles with back pain due to the gravitational changes from Mars to Earth, the only person who has been able to help with these problems is Mara.
• According to P.M. Seymour, six characters that served as inspiration for Kael'Thal were Darunia from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Thrall from Warcraft, Bruce Banner/Professor Hulk from Marvel, Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles, Captain Gantu from Lilo & Stitch, and Russel Hobbs from Gorillaz.
